Welcome to The GreenLeaf Project
The GreenLeaf Project is a web based set of tools designed to help producers,
decision makers and researchers gain access to climate, soil and agriculture risk data to help support them as they make decisions
related to their work. The GreenLeaf Project is the next iteration of the development of risk management and assessment tools
provided through a partnership between The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) National Drought Mitigation Center, the UNL Department of Computer
Science and Engineering and the USDA Risk Management Agency. This on-going partnership has lead to the development of a number of
drought and risk assessment related tools, many of which can be accessed at http://nadss.unl.edu and
http://drought.unl.edu; these tools are supported by climate data from The High Plains Regional Climate Center
(http://hprcc.unl.edu).
The GreenLeaf Project site is currently a public release preview, providing users with the following features:
- A search engine for accessing climate and drought data. Users can access climate or drought report data simply by
entering search terms like any web searching tool. You can search by keyword, city, state, county or zip code.
- Dynamic graphic visualizations of climate and drought data to help users who need historical analysis of conditions.
- Downloadable station reports for weather stations, giving users a current and historical overview of the climate and drought conditions.
- Dynamic climate and drought data reports, providing users with access to raw climate and drought data for any location in the US both
in weekly and monthly intervals.
- Google Map integration to allow weather station visualization.
- Google Map integration to allow advanced mapping of drought and risk events including the US Drought Monitor - data
provided by The National Drought Mitigation Center.
- Advanced search options that can be accessed through our Query Builder interface.
There are more features coming, we've selected this subset to provide our users with a first look at some of the features
of our upcoming release. Your feedback is invaluable to us at this stage. If you find something that isn't working correctly,
would like to request a feature, or if you just want to share some thoughts with us about this site, please send mail to: greenleaf (at) cse (dot) unl (dot) edu.
